I just got back from the cinema watching Moana, and it somehow made slightly interested in the islander languages (the songs in the cartoon were occasionally sung in some sort of islander language, it sounded very pretty). It would be very interesting to see tongan added to duolingo. :)
Cool, I haven't seen the movie. I'm assuming Tongan and Moana are from Hawaii or somewhere in the pacific?
Yes please! Let's get some South Pacific Island languages on here! Tongan has my vote for sure.
I would love to learn Tongan. One of my favourite countries.
Probably also worth pointing out that it is quite a widely spoken language in my native NZ too.
My best friend growing up was Tongan. Her grandparents only spoke their native tongue, and since she is serving a mission in Tonga right now, I want to be able to understand what she says when she gets home.
