can´t be "σταμάτησα για μια στιγμή" ?
"A while" is a short amount of time and depending on the circumstances could be hours or even days. And "λίγο" similar. However, μια στιγμή" is a minute or a moment.
Thank you, I didn't know this difference in English, because it isn't my native language. Now it is clear. Thanks. :-)
Actually, in English you could stop for a little while or a long while. "While" is an undefined period of time.
If this is a short amount of time perhaps it should say "I stopped for a little" or "I stopped for a little while"
A while could be hours, days, weeks, months, etc.
We also have "for a little while" as another translation.
