Do I need to scroll down in discussions?

Here's something I've wondered about for a long time:

If I'm reading a particular post in a discussion, and then I go back to list of posts, it always brings me back to the top of the list.

If the post I've just read is, let's say, number 30 in the list, that means I have to scroll down through 30 posts to get to the next one. What a waste of time! Am I doing this wrong? Other websites with threads & posts will bring you back to where you left off, not force you to scroll through all of them again.

Is it me, or is it Duolingo?

The workaround is to open the topic in a new browser. (Right click and choose "Open link in new window.")

Pro tip: You can scroll click to open in a new tab. You can also scroll click a tab to close it.

I guess we'll just continue opening them in new tabs.

Unless you and I are making to same mistake, that is just how Duolingo's forum interface works, unfortunately.

Thank you, everyone, for helping me solve this pain-in-the-neck problem!

I was so happy to read this solution, but the original tab with the discussion list actually logs me out automatically if I'm off it for more than a fraction of time ...what the heck
