Is there any difference between καναπές and ντιβάνι?

Ντιβάνι is a short bed, καναπές is sofa.

If you google ντιβάνι and check the pictures it's beds rather than sofas. I thought the truth is somewhere between the two, practically a day bed.

"The couch" shouldn't be marked wrong.

    I agree.

Do you have a screenshot showing that answer being rejected?

Are you sure you had a translation exercise and not a listening exercise?

"The couch" is one of the accepted translations for Ο καναπές.

I don't know if the Duobot is being glitchy or what, but just I entered "the couch" and it was marked as correct.

First time I wrote 'the settee' and it was marked incorrect. I don't think there is a difference in English between a settee and a sofa.

I think it's a usage issue and must be missing from the database. "Settee" seems to be limited to the UK (Wikipedia informs me it's used in Canadian EN too), so it's not a very well known alternative internationally and therefore very easy to miss. :) Thank you for bringing this up!

Edit: A contributor has added 'settee' as an alternative now.
