Leabhra Feabhra - Oscail do mheabhair le leabhair!!
Last year I posted a link to a website encouraging people to celebrate Lá 'le Bríde by gifting books in Irish to your friends and relations.
An bhliain seo chaite, sheol mé nasc go suíomh gréasáin atá ag spreagadh ceiliúrtha Lá 'le Bríde trí leabhair Gaeilge a bhronn ar do chairde agus ar do mhuintir
I only discovered the site at the end of February, but I promised that I would remind people in enough time to fully participate this year!
Níor tháinig mé ar an suíomh ach ag deireadh na Feabhra, ach gheall mé go chuirfinn i gcuimhne do dhaoine in am go leor chun páirt á glacadh go hiomlán acu, i mbliana.
thank you, what a lovely idea. I will send some off and sincerely hope some friends and relations will send me some :).
I guess I got a bit of a jumpstart on this - after reading Deireadh Seachtaine Craiceáilte by Roddy Doyle, I decided to buy all of the other Irish language books in the Open Door series of "adult literacy" books - they arrived on Tuesday, so I'll still be reading them during Feabhra na Leabhra!
I ordered them from kennys.ie - with their free shipping and the current exchange rate, it worked out cheaper than buying them individually through Amazon and paying $3.99 shipping on each book (they aren't available through Prime!), though they didn't have one of them in stock, and I ended up ordering it through Amazon.
