No, you would not ask that. It does sound funny.

You'd ask "Mănânci carne de vită?" ("Do you eat beef?").

In this case, I think 'pork' should be accepted. It is not as common to say that you eat pigs as it is to say you eat pork. Oxen is fine.

When referred to as a food, it is pork in English, not pigs.
