I have used Duolingo on my apple iPad for about 18 months . I prefer to do my practice in the morning and I get lazy sometimes so practicing what I have already done is all I do. But I do it everyday. I have had the streak freeze active but rarely ever used it. I was at 367 days when I was notified that I had broken my streak. I was confused because I had not missed a day. There is no easy way to contact this group so I renewed my streak freeze and continued to practice. Today it happened again. I am not mistaken about not missing a day. This appears to be a glitch that began about the same time the clubs option appeared. While it is not an important feature in learning it is a motivator. Would appreciate some help in fixing it. I don't know if it's repairable (aside from the message that pops up for iPhone (?) users, offering a repair for 10$) But some insight:
This happens only (?) on mobile apps, when they fail to contact the server and add your data. The best way to avoid this is to check the web version after you do the practice, to see if the data is there.(There will be a tick on your streak icon)
Well, I have replied once so forgive me if I duplicate. The $10 fee was almost enough to make me quit the whole darn thing. Need money then charge subscription but don't try to extort me
How interesting, cut my reply off. So try for the third time- thank you for your reply and suggestions. I will see if I can make it work. Ultimately it is their problem to correct but since contact information is hard to find I won't hold my breath.
I would pay if they called for a donation, but not for this! There is no proper contact information. The best thing you can do is keep cool, and start over. What you lost were pixels on a screen, your knowledge is kept safe!
I think the lack of proper contact information is probably my biggest pet peeve.
