North West Wales includes the border with England, correct? If so, this is the dialect my Great/great-Great grandparents would have spoken!

No; the border with England is in the east of Wales -- the western border of Wales borders the Irish Sea.

I was thinking perhaps the dialect was focussed in the West, but extended to the east too. But having done more research, it seems that NE Wales has a different dialect.
