I lost my streak for no reason

I had a nice long streak of around 150 days, and I did a lesson yesterday, but now I have a streak of 1? I am incredibly frustrated because I put a lot of time and effort into that, and now I have to start all over again.

Remember that you have to actually earn coins - if you fail the lesson it doesn't count towards your streak. The best way to make sure you've fulfilled your activity for the day is in the topbar - the flame will be checked off if you've earned any points today.

Yep agree, but it's good to know who spilled it and how it got spilled, to prevent future spills. btw it's going to take him 148 more days to fill his glass again :D

Bchan I hear you are the person to talk to to restore my streak, this is the only way I know how to reach you. I did not miss a day (and have screenshots to prove it), I also had a streak freeze in place, but I still lost my 245 day streak.

I had that same thing happen a week ago (https://www.duolingo.com/comment/1878416). I had to contact the support and they did a reset for me.

Actually I see Activity thing unreliable as it only logs if you learned new skill / added a comment but not if you finished a lesson.

Feeling sorry for you - here's a lingot. I am dreading the day when I head off on vacation & am not able to continue my streak! I wish there was a "vacation pause" button - it would probably be abused, though.
