What do these friendly names mean?

Szia! I have a wonderful friend in Budapest who is calling me "kis barátom" and "Cimbi". The first means "my little friend" (some sources also say "friend/boyfriend"), and the second I was told meant "buddy" but I (surprisingly) can't find a single reference to it on the web or in any dictionary. I don't want to misinterpret anything, so can any Hungarian speakers verify anything for me?

Köszönöm! :-)

Those translations are correct. Barát can mean boyfriend but only when the context makes it possible and never combined with kis. Cimbi is short for cimbora.
