very frustrating to have to translate names now...
Agreed translating names is unreal. a name is a name
Plus ioana is more like joanna since ioan is john
why wouldn't "bună ziua, ea este Anne si eu sunt Mary" work?
It works now.
So you can use este or e in this context?
It doesn't, it marked me wrong because I didn't translate the names.
Like most people here, I really disagree with translating names.
buna ziua = good afternoon? what does it have to do with the afternoon?
Ziua = day, literally. But you can use "Buna ziua" very lax. It's not uncommon to use it throughout the entire day.
I put buna ziua ea este ana si sunt maria and it said its wrong
Duolingo continues to fail its users. Translating names is just plain stupid, but that doesn’t stop the STUPID OWL!!
Wait, We have to translate names now?!
Reported it (nov 2021) and surprised that this is still not fixed after reading this has been a problem for years now
How would one express this in Romanian if one were introducing two English girls, Anne and Mary?
Not sure why we're translating names, but Anna and Maria both exist in English so why translate them to Anne and Mary?
Dece trebuie se traduc prenumele? Nu înțeleg aceasta3precedere de loc!!! Si niciodată am auzit aşa ceva
