Weil vs Denn

I know somewhere buried in these discussions is an answer to my question, but figured it would easier to just ask it again. I know weil and denn are essentially the same, and they just effect word order in the next clause differently. My question is, is one used more often in conversation than the other? Are they used about the same? Is one more formal than the other? Thanks!!

"Wiel" is not a German word. Almost certainly, you're thinking of "weil".

And to answer your question, here's a highly informative Stackexchange page: http://german.stackexchange.com/questions/5724/difference-between-weil-and-denn (first Google hit for "weil denn").
