Since "atât... cât" implies quantifiers, wouldn't "Michael is as smart as he is rich" be a better translation? The word "both" does not imply to what extent he is smart or rich.

is it right to have that comma after destept? seems awkward, but maybe that's how it works? atat/cat seems a lot like the Latin correlatives tantus/quantus (or tot/quot)
