I tried writing  dysgu'r Gymraeg , because I remember having read somewhere that the Welsh language can be either Cymraeg  or y Gymraeg.
But my answer was not accepted. Am I mistaken?

How did we get "Welsh" from "Cymraeg?"

Welsh is the Anglo/Saxon word for foreigner.

Cymraeg comes from 'Cymru' =land of fellow countrymen, the 'Cymry'

So 'Cymraeg' is 'the language of the 'Cymry'
