I am doing well translating, for example: "A wise Tom ate a red apple" into Welsh as "Bwyta Tom doeth aral coch"?

"Bwytodd Tom doeth afal coch." would be a direct translation (though it would also mean "Wise Tom ate a red apple) but I'm assuming "A wise Tom" is an idiom?
