Hello! I speak: Russian, Hebrew, English (as a native speaker), i learn: French
Greetings! My name is Izabella, I'm 18. First of all, I'm really glad I discovered this website. Second, I would like to find some native-French-speaker pen-pals, that can help me with learning this beautiful language (plus, it's always nice to meet new people) :) In return, if by any chance you're learning one of these languages- Russian/Hebrew/English, I'll be really glad to help you!
See, I was born in Israel, in a Russian/German family. Both of my parents speak Russian, so it was my first language. (Yeah, there are a lot of swear words in Russian).
When I went to school, I started learning Hebrew. I speak mostly Hebrew and Russian with my friends here.
And, since I was 4, my mother taught me English. She doesn't speak English herself, but she bought me a lot of English textbooks, children's books, cassettes (in order to give me the proper accent) and sat with me for 3 HOURS everyday, teaching me English. And I'm very grateful to her for that. Today I mostly listen to music in English and 90% of the books I read are written in English (which is freaking great, because you can understand all the puns and word play), (sometimes the translated versions in hebrew/russian are horrible).
Here are some of my interests:
1) Guitar/Music (I play the guitar for almost 4 years now, I like all types of music, from classical to heavy metal (used to be a metalhead when i was 15) (who am i kidding, i still am one) ).
2) Books (I REALLY love reading, feel free to recommend me any book you enjoyed, genre doesn't matter)
3) History (all things interesting).
4) TV shows (there are a lot, but most recent are- Sherlock, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Quantico, Orange is the new black, AHS, etc. etc.)
5) Practically anything. Oh and cats/bunnies.
So feel free to contact me and keep learning! (I'm going to get learning German one day, too).
I like bunnies as well in fact I have two as pets. Could I reccomend ''wings of fire'' and ANY Melanie Dickerson books? they are so good, But really it depends on what you like, You are really inspirational, I hope to learn Hebrew AND Russian. :)
I also have a pet bunny! His name is Bambi, he lives with us for already 2 years. Before him I had another bunny, Ushastick, who lived with us for 7 years. So bunny-lovers are always welcome at our house, ha-ha :) And I haven't read anything by Melanie Dickerson. Added to my reading list, thank you! Last book I read was "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman (and it's really good, recommend). And if you ever need help with learning hebrew or russian, feel free to contact me, and thank you <3
Thanks! My bunnies are named Samson and Halfstache, I have had Samson for almost four years and Halfstache for 2 ( Halfstache is Samson's daughter) I will check that book out, Is there anything sensual in it? ( I'm only fourteen and my parent's don't like me reading bad things)
Halfstache is such a cute and clever name for a bunny! How did he get that name? :) And I wouldn't really call it "sensual" (it's more like a end-of-the-world fantasy kind of thing). Any book by Terry Pratchett is great! And usually suitable for all ages. I would also recommend Charles Dickens and Dostoevsky (every book is a master piece).
Ah ok! Halfstache got her name because she has a black design on half of her face that looks like half of a mustache :D Thanks, I don't mind the end of the world type books so much :)
Ohhh, Ushastick was like that too! Half of his face was red and the other was black. Also, his ears were pointed downwards. And I was a sucker for dystopian books when I was at junior-high. Read a lot of stuff like the hunger games, brave new world, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, the man in the high castle (really good books).
Aww! So he was a lop? Your bunny must have been adorable :D What is your favorite book ('s)?
Yes, he was a lop! My current bunny isn't, though. He's just red/yellowish with long pointy ears. A beautiful and evil littler bastard. I don't really have a favorite book, it changes from time to time, very drastically. Once it was "Looking for Alaska" by John Green and once it was "The Raw Youth" by Dostoevsky. (the latter is still one of my favorite books ever). What is yours?
Aww your bunny still sounds adorable :D I love any Melanie Dickerson books but tbh I'm starting to like Wings of fire more, It's so hard to decide when You like books so much XD I love reading all the time.
Okay, I'm definitely checking out her stuff, as soon as possible :) What other books/authors do you like?
Tui sutherland, She is pretty good too, although she mostly does kids books.. It takes alot to get me to like a book tbh XD
I looked up her name and got to her website. It looks adorable! I enjoy children's books and disney films (and will probably still enjoy them, even when I'm 90). "Alice in Wonderland" is also one of my favorite books till this day :)
Great! I Like heavy metal Instrumental and christian ( Mostly Toby Mac) What about you :D
Bonjour!
