The stream has been temporarily removed due to heavy Duolingo traffic which was causing glitches. It will be back once the glitches have been patched.

Immersion was never intended to be a permanent feature - that's why only some of us had it. As Luis said, Duolingo simply does not have the resources to support a platform as diverse as Immersion. If Duolingo cannot support 50% of us using Immersion, there is absolutely no way that they will be able to maintain it if 100% of users have access to it. It's an unpopular choice but we were warned about this and we have to accept it.

If you have read the text carefully, you would have understood that it is not only about Immersion, but about the whole concept of language learning.

You are encouraging the restoration of a concept that Duolingo has clearly stated they are not able to support. There are many other resources online that can improve your translation skills.

I don't care about my translation skills. I teach German here. Teaching is my passion and DL was the best place for me to make use of it. At the moment I feel that my teaching skills are not required while working on the tree.

Well maybe, but for a few of them this one worked best. If it were restricted to a completed tree or say level 20, less than 1/2 % could use it, of which few percent would do. These few hundreds should be bearable and connect some expertise to the site.

Guys, this doesn't change anything. Either you want to use Duolingo as it is and is going to be, or there are other tools available. I understand you are upset, I was very disappointed with Memrise changes years ago (the beta version had been simply much better and they had gone exactly against the opinion of most members on their feedback forum, and made it much more of a toy for children at the expense of the practical side), but there is no way to change this, they are the owners.

There are real courses, there are digital exercise tools like clozemaster or lingvist, there are many tools better at what the immersion was trying to do (readlang, lwt, lingq).
