Notification Bug

I saw that I had two new notifications but when I click on the bell, nothing happened and the "new" alert disappeared. This is a brand new issue that just cropped up this afternoon. Prior to that it worked seamlessly.

Hi melonball6,

I received a notification as soon as an hour ago. Here are a couple of things you can try to see if they help.

  1. Refresh the page. See if anything has changed.
  2. Clear your browsers cookies and refresh the page.

Another option is to receive notifications by email. go to your settings (hover over your username in the blue bar at the top of the screen. Select "Settings". Then click "Notifications" at the bottom of the page. You can control what notifications you would like to receive by email. If you don't want the notifications to mix with your other email messages, you can install a filter. Here are some instructions http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/Managing_Duolingo_Email_Notifications_with_Gmail_%28Unofficial%29 Here are some instructions from Gmail and Yahoo. However, they will give a good idea of what to look for to install a filter from a different email service. I'm still trying to get screen shots up for it.
