Neat little trick I discovered. Still streaking! ;)

I've had trouble previously when traveling, trying to keep my streak going. Little or no wi-fi to update my progress using the app offline. As I filled my French tree I discovered then that the off line lessons were becoming fewer to finally none available. None available obviously no street between online connections. But....if you add another language to learn and keep that language at only a few lessons completed, then make sure you keep that language selected as you close the app. You will have lessons available off-line. Make sure to try and keep the lesson completions minimal (enough to cover the streak). Next time you access the web connect and keep the streak! Buying a keep streak frozen badge in addition as well of course. Maybe it's common knowledge. I don't know but I accidentally discovered it and thought I would pass along. Salut mes Amis. Get streaking!

Okay, this may be a dumb question, but how can you tell if a lesson is an offline lesson?

And if you have no Wifi, how do the Duolingo servers know you've done an offline lesson (so you get credit for it)?

Oh - and since this isn't about French, could you change your topic from French to Troubleshooting (since it's about the technical features/issues of Duolingo)? Thanks!

I use the duolingo app, iPad. It pre loads a small amount of lessons before I close it. So if I were off line and open it again I have a few rounds/lessons I can do and it keeps track. Then when I reopen the app as I am online it gets uploaded to the duolingo server I think. But one thing to remember about this method. Any lessons I complete offline are then unavailable to do a second time while offline. What I do then is manage my available offline lessons so that I can keep the streak going but keep more lessons available until I can get wifi again. (If that makes any sense)

As for the workings on posting my discussions. I'm still trying to figure that out :) I couldn't find the place to select where it gets placed once I post. After I posted this one I was a little surprised on how others "may" take what I thought was a good/harmless post and make it negative. So, I'm considering just reading post from now anyway. ;) But hope it helped some here anyway. My only intention.

To Xuton-Ion. Go to Duolingo Streak Hall of Fame via Google and add your name. And yes, John Arnold holds the record for the longest streak.
