what does xp mean?

January 28, 2017

please explain me more, because some of my students have 370 xp, but I am just have 80. xp

Doing a lesson makes you earn 10 xp per lesson. Did your students start before you, or they might keep doing the basics lesson over again.

There are several ways to get XP's: 1) complete a lesson (10 XP), 2) complete a timed challenge (varies based on how many answers you get right, if you complete it before getting three wrong answers, and 3) use the Bot on the mobile application (varies based on how well you answer questions). In order to advance for your levels, there are a certain number of XP required before you get promoted to the next level. You are at Level 12 in Spanish, and lower levels in other languages. To get to level 13, you need a certain number of XP.

Since you're asking for help using the site, could you move this post to the Troubleshooting forum? Your post is likely to get a lot more attention there, because that's where the people who are willing to help with this sort of problem hang out. It will also help keep this forum easy to navigate for those who aren't part of the troubleshooting group.

Don't delete it and create a new one, just click edit, and change the topic from Duolingo to Troubleshooting. Here's a guide on how to move a post: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16609773.

...and here's a guide on how to choose which forum to post in: [Guide] In which forum should I post my discussion?.

Thanks :)

Duolingo has an official help page. Just go to the Home tab, scroll to the bottom of this Homepage and click on "help".
When you cannot find the answer to your question, please search first in the Discussion tab or Google or go to the unofficial wiki for Duolingo http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/Duolingo_Wiki .
