Suggestions for ways that Swedish learners can use our lingots

So as a German learner I can buy two bonus skills: "Idioms and Proverbs" and "Flirting". But as a Swedish learner, there's nothing to buy. :( Vad tråkigt!

If we come up with ideas of what we'd like to buy, will the Swedish elves make some bonus skills för oss?

How about: - slang - idioms and proverbs - Learning "Du gamla du fria" (the national anthem) - Swedish jokes (especially if they have a double meaning in English) - flirting - a reading text with comprehension questions - error correction practice

We actually have bonus skills made but Duolingo can't yet allow them for technical reasons. Unfortunately, that means we have absolutely no idea when the developers are ready to release them. They were created well over a year ago.

Is there anything users can do to speed up the release?

To be honest - probably nothing whatsoever. But if you do find a way to contact the developers, that's your best bet. Thanks for your interest!

Those sound great! I would LOVE having bonus skills- I was so sad to see Swedish not having any to buy. :( I hope we can get some, I don't know much about the process for that sort of thing, :/, but it would be awesome! Jag älskar är! - love the idea. Wish I could do something more to help though,

Also speaking exercises. We practice reading, writing, and listening, but we never practice speaking. :(

As far as I know, speaking exercises work only in Google Chrome

I guess you're right. I use Firefox. Duolingo, do you know if this is true? If so, is there any plan to make speaking exercises available in other browsers?

I checked yesterday and I didn't get any speaking exercises on Firefox.

Your best option right now is to use Chrome... :\

I had to install Chrome exclusively for speaking exercises. For any other purpose Firefox is my choice, too :) And, I do not know anything about Duolingo development plans.

Actually there are speaking exercises available in Swedish, they're just disabled by default. Go to settings > account. I'm not sure how it works in the app though....

When I go to settings, the closest thing to speaking exercises is to enable my microphone, which I have done. :(

I have tried the app, Firefox and Chrome and I do not have speaking exercises in Swedish. My mic is enabled.

Thanks, but it is definitely allowed. I seem to be lacking both this and progress quizzes for whatever reason.

Honestly, my best guess then is that Duolingo is running one of their perennial A/B tests...

Proverbs would be interesting. However the expressions could be a funny way to learn it. Many of the Swedish expressions make no sense in a direct translations to English, like "Near doesn't shoot a hare".

I would love a practice quiz now that my tree is golden. My lingot store seems to be in the minority of those without one.

Are speaking exercises supposed to be able to work in the app or not?
