Course for students with different mother tongues

Hi,

I want to teach some refugees from all over the world with different mother tongues German. Can I manage that the user interface is in German too? Or can I manage to make different mother tongues as a starting point for them? (But lots of languages like Dari (Afghanistan) and Tigrinya (Eritrea) are not offered. I do not want to confuse them with English as lots of them don't know English as well.) Thanks for your help.

The model of Duolingo is learning from your mother tongue, so if they don't have a course from a language the student already speaks, it's not going to work for them. Sorry! They are always making new ones, but I have not seen anything about German courses for speakers of Dari or Tigrinya.

Perhaps you could just recommend Duolingo as a supplement to students whose mother tongue is available? Failing that, if any of them speak Arabic as a second language (or a first one for that matter), there is a German for Arabic speakers: https://incubator.duolingo.com/courses/de/ar/status

Other than that, the languages one can learn German from include Turkish, Russian, French, Portuguese, English, Spansh, and Italian.
