Duolingo does allow the use of ujo-forms in answers (I think I've also seen them in hints, but don't quote me on that), so I don't see any basis for your criticism. If a specific sentence does not, just report it and the course creators will fix it once they get to it.

I would also be interested in seeing some proof for your claims on what is and what isn't official or recommended, and hearing why you would be a higher authority on this matter than the Duo course team is.

EDIT: I went to check and the ujo-forms are even mentioned in the tips and notes for the Countries section. Direct quote: "The second group takes the name of the inhabitant as the root form (e.g. ital-o, german-o) and its country name is formed by adding -uj in front of the ending -o."

OK. I bombed out of a couple of questions using it. I'll review and add comments accordingly. Cheers

I think that the place to look when you want "official" is the Akademio de Esperanto.

Some links:

It seems to me that "ne rekomendata" is good wording for the ending -io -- specifically, it is not "malrekomendata" but equally "ne rekomendata" with the Fundamental -UJ-, in the sense that the Akademio does not recommend either of them over the other.
