Beginning Russian. Help?!

So, I am beginning Russian and wanted to know is it better to dive into the Cyrillic alphabet or stick with the alphabet I know? Which would be more practical for the long run?

Learning Russian without learning and/or using the Cyrillic alphabet would be kind of like learning how to juggle by using three stones weighing 10 kg each.

It takes a while to get used to a different alphabet, but it's definitely worth it!

I use the Cyrillic keyboard. It is more practical in the long run. Happy learning!

Dive in. It's tricky, but it's a lot easier than it seems at first. It's also the necessary first step for learning Russian.

Don't fear the Russian alphabet. It is a way more regular and easier than English.

I think learning Cyrillic is the easiest part of learning Russian. Plus it's fun. And you must learn it, there's no other option. I am using Duolingo on an Android device and installed the Cyrillic keyboard from day 2 (on the first day i was just fooling around)

As Италья́нский джокер says - Cyrillic alphabet is the easy part but absolutely essential. I use the Russian keyboard you'll find on Google Translate - and then transfer text by copy/paste. Easy!

I think that diving into the Cyrillic alphabet would be good because it would kind of be a challenge

I would recommend you learn the language first, then learn the alphabet :)
