New practice idea.

How about a flashcard practice mode. I feel that it would help me personally with words that I don't find myself using as often. It could even be used to help eliminate more of the rusty skills that fade based on a few words that are under used. I keep finding, in my experience at least, that i'll be pushing back to keep it all gold and be able to move on and then I get busy with school or work and lose all my progress quickly.

Maybe implemented in the Lingot store as an add on to buy I know i would do it. Or it could also just go under or with the strengthen skill button.

I feel that it could go based on the word list and it could help strengthen the words that are low strength. When more of those words from a part of speech are strengthened it would be able to consider the skill from which it comes practiced. This would also then help combat people from excessively falling behind on their tree when they find them selves too busy to spend hours a day on the app. Personally I am taking a class with the app so I am constantly practicing so when i fall behind it is very discouraging.

Another positive aspect to this addition to the app would be a new way of practicing the language. This would break up the monotonous nature of working on words that all relate. This would also help better learn the words. I find my self clumping words and only remembering words when i do the exercise attached to the word. With a flashcard extension, it would allow for users to practice words that are typically not seen together to better ensure proper memorization.

A suggestion for experience could be maybe every 10 cards guessed in a row is an experience point. Multiplier bounces could also be implemented.

Personally I love the app and helps me better myself and would love to see growth in the app. Thanks for putting out such a great app guys and thanks for listening to my proposal, as I am sure that you have many of them. I would love to see this implemented is some form.

Have you tried the flashcard functionality within words? The button is on the right.

No XP though.

When you are on the web version, at the top where the blue is there is an option for "words"? Not sure if this is what you meant, but if it is... idk

When I go into Words, I have a box on the right called Spaced repetition. Inside this box, there is a button labelled Review flashcards

Do you not have this?

If not, there may be an A/B test, as I think most people have this button (if their course has Words, as not all courses do).

Yes, actually there was another troubleshooting thread, where someone had complained that this big blue review flashcards button on the right side of the screen of the URL https://www.duolingo.com/words is not there on the web for him.

A quite long time not anyone had any clue what he was talking about (missing the screenshot example) and what he was actually searching.... In the thread they had uploaded two images: One / his Duo account WITHOUT the button, other users working Duo account(s) WITH this blue button.

But it does not matter:
Either use the programmed Android DuoLingo flashcard app (on mobile) https://www.duolingo.com/comment/20350512, or install BlueStacks app player (emulator) on PC and install/use the flashcard app there....

Personally I would not use the DuoLingo words / flashcard API interface at all.
Hook up on Memrise for a DuoLingo course and train your vocabulary there - or Anki - or SuperMemo - or Flashcards Deluxe...

The much more often short-term spaced repetition intervals of 3-6/12h/24h++ hours are IMHO better than DuoLingo to really learn / train (weak) words...and you can even IGNORE some well-known words (which you can't on DuoLingo)....

Yeah it will use words that I have yet to learn. Also I feel that this could potentially be used more if it actually rewarded users as I suggested in my post.

There is an Android DuoLingo flashcard app which connects to DuoLingo: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/20350512

The owner updated his thread and said that the words count is now even configurable (DuoLingo words review flashcard on the web gives max 15 words, the Android app showed me 8 when I tested it).

Unfortunately the DuoLingo blue flashcard review button does not really work how you might expect it to do (I have at least 2-3++ threads updated only for this, that it won't really let you train all your 1-2 bar strength weak works most of the times).
