Is there an easier way to practice?

The lessons move by much too fast, and it doesn't explain the basics of grammar well beforehand. For a first time learner, it isn't very practical.

Look at the bottom of the start page for each module. There is a short description of the grammar. Also, when you are going through the lesson, you can click on the top right corner for a refresher.

I was wondering about this, too. I recall my surprise when suddenly I was confronted with a sentence in the past tense. "Il a ecrit la lettre." Well, I knew it was past tense because I'm familiar with French. But how would a new learner realize this? Am I missing some kind of text that discusses new grammar when it is introduced?
