Why is it "one night" and not "a night?"

"I am going to stay a night" wan't accepted!

"I will stay for a night" shouldn't be accepted too?

August 17th 2014... "I'm going to stay a night" has been rejected. I have reported it. Hopefully one day, some one, some where will reap the benefits of our reports, but that certainly wasn't me! :)

just wondering, can it be "i'm going to stay for one night"?

I think it should be! "Stay FOR some time."

What is the difference between "je va" and "je vais" ?

"I am going to spend one night " should work, perhaps?

"I will stay" is not "je vais rester". The correct translation is "I am going to stay". It is obvious no-one at Duolingo reads these comments otherwise these errors would be corrected. That's a shame!

"I will stay" is 《je resterai》Duolingo has confused the two future tenses, simple future and near future.
