In the food lesson, peanut was said to be arahida. Why now are they using aluna?Can peanut be either?

While the most accurate translations are: peanuts=arahide and hazelnuts=alune, people in Romania often tend to say alune for both. Please excuse us. :)

They sent an me an e-mail suggesting I might be mistaken. So I checked with my native born Romanian friend. He says that they do not use alune when referring to peanuts. I know which one I'm trusting :)
