I would like to add this etymology, but I think it is not complete. Perhaps the origin is Ancient Greek. ;)

Etymology

From Latin cēpa, caepa.

Noun

ceapă f (plural cepe)

1) (countable) onion (plant)

2) (countable) onion (bulb)

3) (uncountable) onions (any quantity of bulbs)

Am luat niște ceapă.

I bought some onions.
