Polish music

Hi! :) I've started to learn polish and besides the language I'm interested is the country's culture. I'd like to listen to music in polish, my favourite is pop music. Could you recommend me some singers or bands which are famous in Poland? Thanks. :)

Hi! I started learning because i have family in Poland, and I'd like to go back and live there. I like the band called TDG, personally.... if you are a Christian. TGD has a lot of good music. =)

Thank you for your recommendation, I like the songs of TDG. :) Anyways, you're so lucky to have a family in Poland. Once I visited Krakow, it's an amazing city. I want to go back there. :)

Since this post is about Polish, could you move it to the Polish forum? More of the people who are interested in Polish will see it there, and it will help keep this forum easy to navigate for those who aren't currently studying Polish.

Don't delete it and create a new one, just click edit, and change the topic from Duolingo to Polish. Here's a guide on how to move a post: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16609773.

Thanks :)

My suggestion isn't pop music either, but Chopin set a number of Polish poems to music. The music is very beautiful, and even though the language is quite ornate and literary, there are passages that I can understand now, after 3 months of Polish study.

I was interested in the same thing so I had a look through some of the pop charts for Poland and browsed through the shazam music charts. It was somewhat hard to find the Polish artists amongst the English ones there but I did find an artist called Lanberry who has a very pop sound and the lyrics seem fairly straight forward. Her most popular songs seem to be Piatek and Podpalimy Swiat. I don't know how famous she is in Poland but I'm finding that browsing those kind of charts has been an alright start for me.

There is also an album on Spotify called 'The Best of Poland 2016' that could be great to sift through to find a Polish artist with a sound you connect with. In pop there are still different sub genres that you might gravitate to more than the artist I chose :)
