I have been using Duolingo for some time now, and let me say, it has helped A LOT. I thought that French could never be taught to me and I would never know how to use it and all that stuff, but I can! I made the right descison to get Duolingo from my app store.
I'm happy to hear that! I am also loving it, though I only downloaded it about a week ago to brush up on my high school French before I forget it all. I enjoy the variety of exercises and languages- After French, I might move on to German!
I'm in a similar position. I'm trying to pick spanish back up after I neglected it from not having the class anymore. I was never fluent in it. I'm also trying to pick up some other languages too while I'm at it.
I am glad that Duolingo has helped you and also that you are learning a language you want to learn.
I 100% agree! Duolingo is a great help for learning languages! I'm still slightly sad that they removed Immersion. :(
Oh, is this why I can't find immersion? they removed it? I have been seeing it mentioned in different posts and have been searching for it. Do you know why it has been removed?
It was removed because "not enough people used it". However, in my opinion, I think there are many new tools that we could duo without. (Duobots and Clubs)
I took some french when i was in University but I forgot a lot and now I'm slowly remembering how to write and speak it is very easy and I've been practicing a lot, so hopefully I will be able to speak soon
Yes, it has been very helpful to me as well. Hoping to stay focused become fluent
I've also started on the French tree to refresh my knowledge of the language. I was last speaking French in a classroom a little over thirty-eight years ago, although I have used it since then from time to time, either spoken or written.
(I am also working on refreshing my German, learned around the same time and used less than French since then, and trying to build on what little Dutch I learned for a recent holiday, and working on getting a good grounding in Welsh, as we hope to move to Wales and speaking Welsh will be a positive point at interview for my wife and maybe for me in the kinds of jobs we will be looking for.)
