Our monkey is hungry! (Hilarious Duolingo Phrases) :)
A forum for sharing those wonderfully peculiar phrases that Duolingo helpfully teaches you to say...
For example: "My Grandmother was putting the mushrooms in the oven for a few hours!" (Or in Italian: "Mia Nonna metteva i funghi nel forno per qualche ora!") :)
Italian: "Tu sei mia fino a morire" ("You are mine until I die").....kind of stalker-ish!
Esperanto: "Ĉu vi vidis Tio urso en nia domo?" ("Did you see that bear in our house?")....yes along with his buddies, who are also in my house!
Spanish: "Lo siento soy una manzana." ("I am sorry, I am an apple."), "Lo siento soy un pato." ("I am sorry, I am a duck.")....because I would actually have to know how to say these!
French: "Je suis une canard." ("I am a duck.")....again, because I would actually have to know how to say this!
Itheann an leon éadaí from the Irish course is the winner, if not or Tá an fear sa chuisneoir or Tá an bhean sa chuisneoir, again from Irish! Also, do take a look to comments section of Ĉu vi amas ŝin aŭ min? from the Esperanto course!
If you search the discussions with something like "Weird AND sentence" or "Funny AND sentence" you'll find more posts like this!
One of my favourites! "The bear likes the vegetarian" in Swedish: "Björnen tycker om vegetarianen". :D
Yes, I recently learnt that one - but surprisingly didn't have a chance to use it in Stockholm last week!
In Dutch colors, 'Dat is geen water, het is geel.' which translates to, 'that is not water, it is yellow'!! ;-)
"My girlfriend can't cook but she eats a lot" found this one quite funny from the Russian course
I think . . . . my sister did? IDK Why. she uses this account sometimes. I didn't write that IK to you.
