Anyone know why it does this if you're level 25?
This has been slightly bothering (not really) me for a while. I am very curious as to why whenever I finish a lesson it says I have blank out of 2,147,453,647.
Here's the screen shot:
P.S. Does this happen to anyone else who is a level 25?
It is just a glitch (the result of integer overflow).
Calculate: 2 ^ 32 / 2 = 2,147,483,648.
It won't happen. You would not live long enough to reach that number of XP even if you scored in excess of 1000 XP per day.
This has to do with the size of a 32 bit signed integer field in whatever language Duolingo is programmed in. 2^31 is 2,147,483,648. It is a common programming error.
I agree. One of my theories is that the person with the most XP has that amount.
It means that you have entered the Twilight Zone or, as they (may) say in france (if they use the Google Translator), La Zone de Crépuscule
The Twilight Zone is the name of an old American tv program. The 'twilight zone' is a place where odd, unnatural, and usually unfortunate things happen to those who happen into it.
