Activity Type Restriction

Is there any way to restrict the type of activity when practicing a lesson? I'm new to Duolingo, and I'm struggling a bit with the listening aspect of learning French. I think more of the "type what you just heard" exercises would benefit me, but I can't figure out how to only have those without practicing everything. Thanks!

Yes, there is but not on Duolingo. Here try this website https://www.memrise.com/login/?next=/home/ it's free and it has "type what you hear". Also check out there other free language learning websites - https://learn.lingvist.com/ , http://lingvo.info/ru# and https://www.speaky.com/. Hope this helps you.

You can turn off the listening and speaking exercises in settings, but you cannot request more. You can listen to Duo say the words without looking at the text, though.

Not that I know of. When you got to Paris, you'll need to do more than just understanding what people are saying. Duolingo tries to simulate this by giving you a variety of problems.
