I was going to say literally the same thing!

pilipili hoho is often, but not necessary green. They could be red too. Red pepper should be accepted as an answer. Any waswahili who agree/disagree?

True, pilipili hoho is a type of chili.

This same substance was previously called پل پل /pel pel/ in Farsi, and it's now called فل فل /fel fel/ in both Farsi and Arabic.
Etymology for "pepper", from AHD 5th:

Middle English peper, from Old English pipor, from Latin piper, long pepper, black pepper, from Greek peperi, of Indic origin; akin to Prakrit pipparī, long pepper, from Sanskrit pippalī, from pippalam, berry, fruit of the pipal tree, of unknown origin.

So this is just any bell pepper? They can be green and red, but also yellow or orange. Would these also be called pilipili hoho?
