I know that they exist, but i havn't been able to find a comprehensive collection of any translations online. To clarify, i am looking for a book to read in esperanto, specifically a translation, not original works. And to further clarify, something within the romantic genera (not romance, romantic, though it can have romance in it), although it can also not be romantic. For example, i was trying to find a translation of phantom of the opera or les miserables, or war and peace. If any one knows where I can find some of these, that would be much apreciated. Thanks in advance.

*edit, preferably free books please, thanks!

Here is an online site with pdfs of books from all over the world some translated from their original language into Esperanto, some originally written in Esperanto. It includes Pippy Longstockings, and several of the Wizard of Oz books, Hans Christian Anderson, and Jane Eyre plus a lot more.

When you mean "romantic" are you implying "novel", as in romano in Esperanto, or roman in French?

If you want some free translated fiction in Esperanto, here are La Hobito en Esperanto PDF, La Kunularo de L'Ringo en Esperanto PDF, Mil Naûcent Okdek Kvar 1984 en Esperanto PDF

Nerd alert! On the map on page 2, it reads at the top, "Norde troviĝas Feraj Montoj tie estas Daino."

However, it should be "Oriente troviĝas la Feraj Montetoj tie estas Daino."

The first I ever heard of Esperanto was from the sci-fi novel, A Stainless Steel Rat Is Born by Harry Harrison. On one of the back pages it had the address for getting the Free 10-Lesson Postal Course. :)

You can get the pdf of Naskigxo de la Rustimuna Sxtalrato and many other books (Tarzan de la Simioj, La Mirinda Sorĉisto de Oz, La tempo-maŝino, ktp.) in esperanto here ... http://dvd.ikso.net/pagxo/eo/libro.html

I sometimes use Rustimuna Sxtalrato as my gamer ID when I'm gaming. :D
