"An nfection" in the singular is better in English. In Swahili too?

I would have said: "Bora upimwe (na daktari) kujua kama umeambukizwa." You should be checked (by a doctor) to know/find out if you have been infected.

Isn't "Pima" in the active voice? Shouldn't it be in the passive voice "pimwa"? Thanks for putting the course together!

Mine was from Swahili to English and it read "Pima kujua...." which I translated to "Test to know ...." It is active yes but I don't see why you think it should be passive.

It could also have been given in the passive as "Pimwa kujua...." , which would translate to "Be tested to know..." but in my example it was given as passive , which I find to be okay as well.

More natural English would be “Test to see if/whether you have any infections.” It’s weird to tell the person “Test!” if they’re the one who might be infected though.
