I still can't differentiate continuous and simple present tense in kiswahili. Why didn't they write I am washing clothes?

It's a Beta error. Although the course was automatically taken out of Beta a year after it was released, it's still got a lot of answers that haven't been added. Someone's been going through it lately and fixing stuff up. I wouldn't be surprised if this is accepted now.

I'd say "I wash" or "I am washing" better encapsulates the idea of what this sentence is trying to say.
