What about famaeth? This sounds just like English Nurse?

Where have you found "Famaeth"? "Nyrs" is what is used everyday across Wales. EDIT: I checked the GPC for "Famaeth" and it means "Nurse" as in a woman who looks after the child of another woman and breast feeds the child instead of her, you wouldn't refer to an NHS nurse with this word.
