Languages in School

I have wanted to learn a weird language that most people would be surprised at a 16yr old trying to learn. In school I had began learning Turkish and caught on quite well but had to transfer schools and my new one only had French and Spanish. I already knew some French and Spanish but they wouldn't let me join the classes because I am on an IEP and the instruction classes were too big. My teachers found this site for me and I can't wait to learn German! There is a teacher who knows German who said she will devise a quiz at the end of the year so I can get my language credit. Wish me luck and I hope Duolingo is going to get me my credit.

Hi SenpaiNoticesYou,

Eventually, there will be a Turkish for English speakers course on Duolingo. But, first the English for Turkish Speakers course needs to be completed https://www.duolingo.com/course/en/tr before work on the reverse course begins. You can watch the progress of En for Tr course in the link above :)

PS, donĀ“t forget to subscribe to the German discussion forum if you decide to take that language (or, to a different forum if you take a different language) Alt text

Actually, here is a guide to all of the discussion forums: http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/Forum_Guide:Where_to_Discuss_What_on_Duolingo%28Unofficial%29 ^_^

Are you a secondary school student? If so you can take the SAT German Language/SAT German Language w/Listening exam in November. It tests the areas Duolingo emphasizes (reading & listening), and could potentially get you a leg up or qualify you for credits when you apply for college.

Back when I was at school, we only had the option of Maori, French or Japanese. I didn't bother with any of them. I really wish I had. Good luck with your German.
