"At the moment" is the same as "right now", am I correct?

I think, "at this moment" would be a better translation. It means the same in English and is a more literal translation.

Just FYI, we say cooking dinner, but it sounds very odd to say cooking lunch: We always say MAKING lunch. Dinner and breakfast can be either one (making or cooking), but for some reason we always just say making lunch.

It is completely correct English to say "I am cooking lunch" and is far from unusual.
