"They reside in the kitchen."
"They reside in the kitchen" seems to me "Sie wohnen in der Küche." Can it also mean "Sie befinden sich in der Küche."? Do spoons reside in the kitchen?
'to reside somewhere' can mean 'irgendwo aufbewahrt werden'. Not sure whether it would be used for spoons, however.
Sorry, I can't resist posting this absolutely needless and pointless reply, but: That sounds actually pretty cute, since 'residieren' got this snobby tone in German. "On the left, you find the bedrooms. Our masters reside there. On the right, you find the kitchen. Our sterling cudlery resides there."
