I'm glad you like it, I found Duolingo on the App Store when I was searching for an app to learn French, but I found that this teaches me more than just French. It also teaches Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and German. I bought the new bonus skill called "Flirting", very interesting......

Yeah, Duolingo is really great. I got the chance to improve my Spanish a lot. I see you are starting now with it. I'm sure you can improve it. Anyway, when you can try also to integrate Duolingo with other things you can do by yourself to improve (listening to music in Spanish, watching video in Spanish, finding website about the language and the grammar, etc.).

I'm sure you will be able to learn a lot in this way. Hope we'll be able to hear again from you to know about your improvements. :)

I see you've just started. It is true that there are many great things about DL. It has helped me a lot in my Spanish learning, although it is not perfect, and t he team at DL is always looking to improve it. You will notice that they are always open to new ideas, suggestions and improvements from the community.
Of course saying, 'This site is dumb, I hate it', doesn't help anybody (and is usually written by a student being forced to use the site by a teacher), there have been many other community driven suggestions (which may seem like complaining) that have made DL a better site.
Just because something is free, doesn't mean they can't/won't improve.

I agree - this "place" really is amazing... Others here will tell you to use as many tools as you can, and I think they're right. There are suggestions for other sites, like freerice.com, memrise.com, studyspanish.com, youtube videos and more. They can all be helpful, and I think the majority of people here are as well. Good luck in your studies!

Duolingo is the best site for learning languages. I know Spanish well because I watched mexican soap operas and now I decided to learn a little more on Doulingo because for 3 months I go to Spain and I really want to know the language very well and communicate with the Spanish without problems :)

I have tried to learn other lanugages a number of fimes and failed. I even managed to not learn much German living in Germany for three years and taking two years of German in high school. I'm nowhere near where I would like to be, but I am shocked when I can read signs and ads in Spanish. Bit by bit . . .

I can't believe that I have been studying on Duolingo for almost a year now. I use it almost everyday. I have never stuck with a program of any kind for this long. I tell everybody I talk to, about it, and how awesome it is. Its fun to go back to the beginning some times and amaze yourself with what you have learned and how far you have come. It's fun and it's so much better than playing silly match3 games....
