I lost my 185 day streak 3 days ago, even though I've been practicing daily :(

I've been doing a lot of real world translations lately, and I'm loving it! So a big thanks to Duo for helping me learn enough French to do that :)

Three days ago, I noticed I had lost my 185 day streak (on the web) and am sure I translated 6 sentences the night before so this shouldn't be true. My activity shows I did do this translation so I'm wondering if it might be a bug?

Did anyone else lose their streak at the same time?

I'm using Firefox 27.01 on a Mac and have a habit of leaving myself logged into Duo almost all the time.

Looking at your activity history, it appears something went wrong on our end since it coincides with when we were having server issues. I've restored your streak and merged it with your existing streak, bumping you up to 188. Please let me know if you experience further problems.

Hi Brooke, I lost my streak again too :(

39 days ago, my 508 day streak disappeared. I logged a support request (#391180) because I didn't remember missing a day and also, I thought I had a safety streak freeze still in place from my overseas holiday. Three emails to support and still no human response...I'd really just like to know if it was my mistake or a weird glitch. I'm ridiculously proud of learning a little French every day for 547 days! :) So, if you could take a look for me I'd be really grateful.

bchan, could you help me? Duolingo lost my 135 streak days in the summer time ending in Brazil. I don't know why, they left me in the wrong GMT and, instead of I bought streak freeze, all my days vanished. It has almost two weeks, I sent 4 messages to the "help us" and my GMT is still wrong and my streak days wasn't recoreved. Thank you. :)

I just lost my 48 (maybe 50 or 49) day streak a few days ago although I did practice. I don't think I was connected to the internet while practicing on my phone so could that be it? I'm 100% sure the streak going up after practicing and now, entering duolingo while connected to the internet, I've seen my streak go down to 0. I've done a few lessons and it's just gone up to a 1 day streak. Help? Thanks.

Maybe that's why it didn't continue. Lower translation tiers award 1/4th of a point per translation. Maybe you didn't do a full point worth of translation.

Are you sure this is how it works?! I'm going to have to try and find the conversation where someone said that they received one point for translating one word even though they were in a lower tier.

Ofcourse they have some bugs with it, but nobody cares. They think that loosing is not that big problem to even review such tickets. I lost my streak as well and nobody fixed that. Nobody even answered me to my ticket, not taking into account that I was sending updates to it. I was sending screenshot that revealed that I had enough experience points every day in my timezone. They just were ignoring my ticket until it became not important for me anymore. I think the same will be with your streak. But not be disappointed so much, ❤❤❤❤ happens and this system is not an exception.

Like wazzie, I just find it encouraging, and it's a really nice indicator of how long I've been learning and practicing my French. It wasn't until I lost it that I realised just how proud I was of my achievements - I never expected learning another language would be so fun and easy. :)

It does give you a lot of lingots, if you are into that.
You get 1 lingot for 10 days, 2 for 20... When I (hopefully) reach 270, I will be rewarded with 27 lingots.
Other then that, it is just motivation to practice every day. It is nice to watch the number climb and (for me) is an indicator of how many days I've been learning/practicing Spanish.

Just today I realized I lost my 47 day streak on my iPhone. I completed a test out just as my train was arriving into a station. The streaks and lingot wagers are great motivators, when they work. I'm hoping my situation is an unknown bug so i can get my streaks back and hopefully help anyone out there who has had the same thing happened to them.

I had streak freeze, so I haven't lost my streak, but I am frustrated with how often I do not get credit for a day when I actually did the practice. This would make the fifth time. When I first started, I didn't skip days, but lost my double or nothing lingots because Duolingo messed up and said I didn't practice. The times I did Duolingo on the Greyhound bus, I didn't get credit for it. Two of the times I did Duolingo away from my usual place, I didn't get credit for the practice. Now, I am not getting credit for doing it last night at my usual place. What is going on? I usually use an Android phone.

A few days ago there was the possible of getting a 3 day freeze. I have long been wanting a longer regular freeze allowence. I even suggested a 7 or even 14 day freeze because sometimes life doles out situations where one hasn't time to keep up with everything. Anyway, I spent several hundred lingots to purchase all three days in addition to the regular single day freeze. But I am only seeing the single day freeze when I check your store. Is there some way I can be certain that I have a total of four conservative freeze days.
