My Golden Forest!

It was hard work.. but at this moment I have FIVE golden trees!

After recently finishing my Spanish from English and English from Spanish trees, I decided to try to get them all golden at the same time.

Now, my Italian trees are so mature that they will stay golden for weeks at a time without much work. But, the young Spanish trees take a lot of work to keep up with. At the same time I had to go back and practically re-do the entire German tree to get it back into condition. All the while juggling the two new Spanish trees so as not to loose too much ground.

Switching between three languages every day for the past couple of weeks trying to make a little progress here and there. AND NOW I HAVE DONE IT! I have all my five trees all gold!

I am starting on a new tree, Italian for Spanish speakers... but I am not sure that I can keep more than five trees gold all at once.

So.. how many trees can you keep all golden at one time? How big can a golden forest become?

Have fun learning! Thanks Duo.... :-)

That is impressive.

Very rarely have I had an entire tree golden, and never more than two at a time!

Congrats, congratulazioni, felicitaciones, and/e/y/und Gluckwunsch! :)

That is quite the accomplishment. I managed three at once, but because one was the German tree I very quickly abandoned keeping that configuration up to date. I only revisit German periodically and never attempting to keep it gold.

Spanish and French are my "easy" to maintain gold trees, so I've been working on getting Italian and Russian complete. I hope to finish Italian in March and Russian in April to finally reach a four simultaneously gold trees. Not sure if I had the dedication to push to five like you!!

Wow! I'm still working on completing my first tree. Is completing a reverse tree harder than the original tree?

Yes... I found both the English for Italian speakers and the English for Spanish speakers much more difficult than the forward trees. That said, I also think that I learned more from them because they were more difficult.
Italian for Spanish speakers should be fun :-)

Wow, that's a lot of work! I've briefly had three golden trees but most of the time it's just two (French and Italian). Portuguese falls behind quickly and German is sadly a long, long way behind.

Congratulations and keep the good work!

YEa.. I won't keep this up... I just re-polished all of them for the second day... took about 20 lessons total.. My German one was so out of date that it looked like I had never done it at all. But since I had at one time reached level 25 in German, Duo was kind enough to only give me a few questions in each lesson so it only took about three days to get it all back to gold. My Spanish is not that good yet, so it takes me much longer to re-fresh the Spanish lessons. I guess I will try keeping them all gold for a few more days just for fun.

Wow that's a lot of work. Congratulations Poche112! Haha, I love how you treat your trees like real things (calling them mature). As for me, I always make sure my French tree is golden.

Wow, that is very inspiring! I hope to achieve the same some day, and have given myself three years to do so.

If I may ask, would you recommend that one keep previously completed trees gilded while working on a new tree, or let the gilding slide a bit and then just power through a refreshing session periodically?

Just curious... I know this is an old post. Have you made them golden again under the new 5 crown system?

No and I do not intend to. The worst thing about the new crown system is the lack of any incentive to keep practicing. Under the old system you had to keep practicing to keep the tree golden. Under the new one, skills do not degrade so there is no reason to revist any of the lessons. I have gotten them all to level 4 crown and I use the number of practices needed to reach level 5 as a sort of counter to help me keep track of what skills I have and have not worked on. Getting all of them to have 1 practice done means I have worked them all. Then move them up to 2 done.. etc.
