For those of you who haven't noticed, there's a feature (not new, just hardly ever mentioned) that's basically a store with a couple shirts and a sweatshirt here. The thing is, it's a little bare. There's only 5 different t-shirts and one hoodie. I really want to get some Duolingo merch, but almost half of the shirts are Spanish shirts. No other language. I tried the discussion forums, but all the posts were a couple years old. Mods commented saying they were planning on new stuff, but it's been two years... I would personally like to see shirts with different languages, and maybe a shirt saying 'I love Duolingo!' in all the languages they have to offer. What would you guys want to see?

Great idea. Thought of that before. Personally, I've seen a couple plush Duo Owls around, and that seems like the cutest thing/idea ever. Add things like a mug, plushes ( OK, i'm maybe just obsessed on how cute they are) et cetera. And yes, add other languages......

Duo sells everything there at cost and makes no money off them. They aren't likely to spend resources adding to it while they are working on funding sources.

Some users have made there own T-shirts with designs inspired by duo. There are places online that will let you make one t-shirt or hat, etc. If you come up with a duo design you like I doubt they would care if you went to one of those places and printed what you want. After all it is advertising for them they don't have to pay for.

If they ever do expand the gear store they should add some Finnish and Latin gear, just because.

What I would really like to see is a Duolingo sponsor sticker on a NASCAR car (preferably Hamlin). Since Duo is non-profit, though, I don't think that'll happen any time soon.

A baseball cap would be nice, with the Duo owl on the front, with the language you are learning printed on the underside of the bill. That would be awesome. Maybe another hoodie, like you said, but instead of "duolingo" on the chest, the little Duo owl could be popping out from somewhere. With those stickers that are there, too, the language you are learning could be one, with that (ever reoccurring) Duo owl wedged in somewhere. An "I Love Duolingo" sticker would be great, too. Another one that says something like, "Duolingo; Learning a Language Made Easier" may help bring in more users interested in learning one.

So many things they could have to throw out there. On the shirts, too, besides those Spanish quotes, some of the even wonkier Dutch ones would be awesome. Thank you for bringing this up; if I had any money, I would be ecstatic if Duolingo made some of this happen.

One of my friends has a sweatshirt that she bought from some charity with cute little seals popping out of the pockets, that would be cute with a little Duo instead.

Yes! Another idea; Pictures of basic animals, with their name in (whichever) language above them. At the end will be the Duo owl (for some reason, I refuse to call him Duo), with "Duo" above him. Maybe a bit like this; Caballo (Pic) Perro (Pic) Gata (Pic) Duo (Pic). My little emoji animals refused to work.

I understood that Duolingo wasn't a none profit organization but a regular business. I'm going to check and see what I can find.

Oh, I thought I heard that they were a non-profit? Oh well. I would love to know if I was wrong; an embarrassing learning experience is better than the non-existent one.

I haven't been able to find much to prove or disprove that exactly, but Wikipedia does say they have quite a few investors so I would say that means for profit enterprise.

Re: NASCAR. They have said that they do not want to spend money on advertising.

Their strategy seems to be using word of mouth and creating courses that generate publicity (Klingon, Swahili, etc etc) [By this I mean that publicity is probably one of several factors they look at when deciding to go forward with a new course]
