I volunteer at a local college radio station, and I was out today collecting sound bites from a local International Women's Day event to report on the radio tomorrow morning. In the course of this I interviewed a handful of passerby. As I went up to interview a tourist that I saw taking a picture of one of the organizers, he told me, "Colombia. No English." Thanks to Duolingo, I was able to conduct the interview in Spanish. While the sound bite I will use from this interview will be very short, it will be immensely valuable to discussing the internationalism of this day, and I would not have gotten it without Duolingo.

It's awesome! I recently went to Germany and thanks to Duolingo was able to speak the native language. You really feel that they begin to respect you more! :)
