The difference between 'Unterkunft' and 'Wohnung'.
I've checked some results using Google Images – I saw that 'Unterkunft' is mostly used in Hotels and 'Wohnung' is used in general as flat/apartment.
When do Germans use these words? Dankeschön!
The images are right - Wohnung: flat/apartment, Unterkunft: accommodation/lodging.
I'd like to add that (die) Unterkunft can also mean "shelter" in a general sense, as in "a roof over one's head" (but not in the context of animal shelter).
Yes, that is correct!
Unterkunft: accommodation. Wohnung: flat/apartment.
