DuoLingo keeps asking me to set a goal
I set the goal at the default of 20XP when I signed up well over a year ago, and all of a sudden DuoLingo keeps asking me if I want to set a goal, as if it's lost the setting. Part of the system still remembers the goal, because it still knows when I've reached it each day, and it's still maintaining the streak. I tried to file a bug report, but after filling out the form and hitting Submit, I got the error message "Access to support.duolingo.com was denied. You don't have authorisation to view this page. HTTP ERROR 403."
Me too. I have a recently stablished goal of 50XP, and Duolingo asks me the same.
On the Web or app? E-Mail notification?
Personally I would ignore this message and try to reset it on the web settings to 1XP.
This is the Android app (see http://home.rksystems.com/Screenshot_20170317-063006.png). Pressing "Continue" doesn't take you to the goals setting page, and nothing else on that portion of the screen is responsive to input.
What would a goal of 1XP mean? As far as I can tell, all activity results in acquisition of XP in clumps of ten at a time. If I set the goal to 1XP and then on Monday earn 10XP, will DuoLingo maintain the streak for the next nine days without my having to do anything?
No, the goal is daily.
10/1XP means you have reached the goal for ONE day.
If you do more e.g 20 or 50XPs, it will show 20/1 or 50/1.
There is no limit for max points per day.
Once I had gained 240XP for 21 review skill excercises for strengthening 11 skills.
For a timed practice you can earn 1XP, up to max 21 XPs (sometimes it is 21 points instead of 20 points).
1 question answered right gives you 1XP; so the streak would have been saved for ONE (current) day until 23:59pm.
