Irritated that for 'gantores' I was marked down for saying 'singer' not female singer - but typing 'male' singer here is apparently incorrect?

Your suggestion is perfectly sensible and logical it's just something that hadn't occurred to us. We will add that as an option when appropriate.

In a previous discussion (about "to hate" = "casau" with acute on the a), I think I remember reading that Welsh speech mostly places the emphasis on the penultimate syllable.

In "Fy hoff ganwr ydy Gareth", the audio seems to be saying "yDY". Is this correct, or am I mishearing, or is this an audio glitch? Thank you.

Yes, it's a glitch.

'ydy' should sound like 'udee' (if spelt in English).
